We’re here for our Siskiyou community.
Seven family resource centers serving Siskiyou County in Yreka, Scott Valley, Montague, McCloud, Weed, Mt. Shasta & Dunsmuir
Our Mission
To develop a collaborative network of services and supports that strengthen the ability of children, youth, adults and families to live healthy and productive lives, which builds their capacity to contribute to the well-being of themselves, their families and communities.
This work is led by a network of family/community resource centers (FRCs). FRCs serve as hubs of intergenerational activity and support, coordinating and integrating supportive services between a range of organizations including: churches, county agencies, healthcare providers, schools, service clubs, nonprofit organizations and governments. Programs build on individual strengths and strive to demonstrate measurable results.

Healthy Families = Healthy Communities
The 5 Protective Factors
for Strengthening Families
The Strengthening Families Protective Factors framework is a current research-based, family-centered approach that builds protective factors in families, programs, and communities, and supports integrated prevention planning.
Research indicates these factors provide the best support to ensure that children thrive:
1. Parental Resilience: The ability to cope and bounce back from all types of challenges
2. Social Connections: Friends, family members, neighbors, and others in a community who provide emotional support and concrete assistance to parents
3. Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development: Adequate information about raising young children and expectations for their behavior and needs
4. Concrete Support in Times of Need: Access to basic needs, such as health care, mental health care and support.
5. Children’s Social and Emotional Development: A child’s ability to interact positively with others and communicate his or her emotions effectively

We help strengthen families by:
Facilitating friendships and mutual support in parents
Strengthening parenting skills
Responding to family crises
Linking families to services and opportunities in the community
Valuing and supporting parents
Facilitating children’s social and emotional development
Observing and responding to early warning signs of abuse and neglect
